This is a question for anyone who has a LONG BED (8ft) and a wedge trailer.

Are you able to leave your tri-fold hard cover in its folded position when the trailer is attached? Or is it necessary to spend the extra $200 for the quad-fold? Or worse, does it HAVE TO be removed when pulling the trailer?

It looks like the hard-roll-up covers will not interfere with the trailer and are a safe bet, but I would love to hear from anyone *who pulls a wedge trailer with a pickup truck AND has a hard-cover they DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE when they attach the gooseneck wedge*

    Thanks much.

The only goose-necks Ive dealt with are those going on tractors for the special high clearance containers.

How far forward is your gooseneck mounted in the bed? As long as the ball is a bit behind your hard cover break it shouldn't be an issue as you really shouldn't ever go past 90 degrees, ESPECIALLY with a gooseneck.

I measured the distance from the front (cab side) of the bed the 35" (the width of the folded up panels) towards the back of the bed and had about 9" between where the folded up edge would be and the ball.

My concern is that when I turn, depending on how TALL the folded up cover is (roughly 3-4") it will catch the front edge of the trailer. However, one easy fix I guess would be an extender, but I think I'll have a solid 2" of clearance between the front of the trailer and the top of the folded cover.

I ordered it today. We will know Tuesday when it gets here.
