Good point. It's scary as hell to come up on one at night. They all seem to live in hilly, curvy areas that aren't conducive to riding around at 10 mph and living to tell about it. Luckily, the Amish in Ohio all seem to run lights nowadays at least.

My first job was hauling steel and our yard was in a town with a good amount of Amish living nearby, not far from the county I mentioned. Those buggies raised my pulse quite a few times when I didn't think they'd be out. I'm glad I pretty much stick to the "big road" these days for the most part.

So terminal manager and regional manager don't want us providing Driver licenses for HOAs due to some trucking company getting sued over third party security commiting identity theft.

Well, had a delivery in one today told them the whole deal, and they were like well we have community rules. I said, I understand but can you let me in to turn around I'm blocking your entrance. Anywhoo after just showing s company ID eventually I got let in to do the delivery.

Fun stuff. Manager is getting heat from corporate, but he seems to be sticking by his guns.

Our company let’s us make the final choice about if we want to show our license or not to places. Some guys won’t because it’s too easy to make a fake cdl with the info and sell it. We’ve actually had drivers not able to make a pickup or delivery over it. Company seems to back them.

My opinion. I’ll show my license. But there’s no need to write anything down. I have a company id for a reason. One big company wanted to scan my license in their system. I said no sorry. You can scan my company id. They said has to be license. Their maintenance dept ended up coming out past the guard shack to get their skid.

Funny part is that we were eventually offered a badge from said company with our name on it, to keep, that gave us access to multiple plants that we go to and let us go to the shuttle lane. The kicker is, I didn’t even have to show my license to get that badge. And now I can go to the plant that wanted my license and just use that badge.

You do license with government. Anyone else gets company ID. They can like it or lump it.

Military installation, they get my license.
Otherwise, no. You don't need it.

I made a delivery one day to a military base and watched a dump truck driver get arrested at the gate. Apparently he didn't know he had a warrant. I bet he wishes he had forgotten his wallet that day and was turned away.

The scanners at schools notify law enforcement if you have warrants or you’re a registered sex offender

Most bus ramps you can't fit on due to the over hanging pavellion thing
