My Rand McNally 740 announces weigh stations with an orange banner across the bottom of the screen. It has options to show alerts visually and aurally.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

If your pretripping it isnt that hard to figure out with a tablet / smart phone / notebook computer to look to see whats on the way. If you average 600 miles a day. Plan to stop around 300 miles from where you are. If your going through a city make a backup plan for 200 miles as traffic may hold you up. Google it, it isnt rocket science. Put a sticky note on the dash of when you are going to stop for your mid trip stop. This is the joy of working as a truck driver and pre planning.

You guys are asking the wrong questions...I want a device that’ll drive the truck. Preferably one that that won’t wake me up while I nap. Oh and if it makes me breakfast that’ll be a plus.

I like my Rand McNally. I set the parameters to announce weigh stations three miles in advance. Gives me a heads up to concentrate on watching for signs. However, new weigh stations aren't in the system, so needless to say you have to always pay attention to signs.

I also use Truckers Path, which is updated with new scales and can let you know if the scale is open or closed, or whether parking is available at the next truck stop or rest area.

    WesternPlains and Truckermania Thank this.

Next we're going to be hearing that real truckers don't use clocks because they can pay attention to the sun and the Big Dipper.

    Nathanos and disoba Thank this.
