To be honest I would have a tough time making that call myself. I can get into Colorado from almost anywhere any day of the week. As it happens Im headed there now. But the freight out is horrible. Rates are low out of there and often times heavier than I am capable of. (39,800 lbs empty). There are always more loads in around and out of any area than what shows on the board and if you found the agents and worked with them, it could be lucrative. There are fedex relays between Henderson/SLC and Henderson/SLC but as those are on company vans i am not up to date on their rates or frequency.

Yeah, thanks. No I joined up last May and havent looked back. No regrets.

As for Denver loads and Fed Ex in particular: I took a load out there last Sept with an outbound Fed Ex relay load going to Grand Forks, ND that was supposed to pay pretty good. I was to deliver the Ohio - Denver load on Saturday and load the Denver - Sioux Falls (my part of the relay) at 1am tuesday. So due to lack of parking out there, I ended up paying to park at the TA there in Denver (was like $35 for the 2 days) sunday-monday). Monday early afternoon the broker calls and says "load cancelled, sorry". Last time I will ever go to Denver. I had been out almost 2 weeks at that point and really wanted to get my butt home. Was looking for loads pretty much all the way home (either going into Mpls or something I could take and pass through and spend a couple of days but couldnt find anything until I got back home (1500 miles).

I generally stay in the Minnesota - Ohio - Tennessee - Missouri box. Pays pretty good. I dont go into Nex Mex - Colorado - Wyoming - Montana or points west. Eastern Pa and Northern Va and points northeast of there. Ga south of Atlanta - Florida I also avoid. OK and Texas are generally hard for me to find decent paying loads out, although it can be done. Had a load out of Laredo to home once that got cancelled the day before pickup also that made me scramble to find stuff. So I am wary of going down there also.

You book a load with CGI you get what you get. Everyone gets it shoved up their ### by them a few times, then you know why you were so lucky no one grabbed that load and it was available.

It’s easy to get a step deck..... it may not be one of the new ones. If I’m not mistaken it takes 6 months per level and 5 loads per level... in other words you start at SD1 and can only pull up to 10 wide. You have 6 months to pull 5 wide loads under 10 wide before you move to next SD2.....

Can anyone get a step or do you have to pull a flat first. I have a year and change pulling a flat. Plus years doing tanker.

3 years ago, there was a 6 month waiting list for a step. Started with a flat while waiting.

The waiting list was for the new aluminum ones.... you may get one but it could be an older one

No more landstar parts / service discounts at MHC kenworth south dallas.

I was quoted a lower landstar price on 3 parts. I had the work done, only to be told landstar pays same as everyone else.

It turns out they even charged me more on one part than everyone else.

I just got off phone with their parts dept., nope no discount for landstar. Lcapp sez theyre suppose to.
