there will still be a need for dockworkers/lumpers. not every warehouse will have a full complement of robots, as the costs will be prohibitive at first, and maybe for the long run. then too, the places that do have robot lumpers, do you think that'll be for free as well??
who's gonna help pay for the cost of said robots..???
don't forget as well, these are electro-mechanical machines, requiring service and repairs when they break down, and do you think the company will not have a back up lumper service..???Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
LOL. Wonder how much more those lumpers would cost?

Robots suck. They can’t do any human’s job.

Budweiser in Baldwinsville,NY uses robots to load trucks. 30 minutes a skid. No further discussion needed.

If you look closely, those were empty boxes.
I’d like to see how those robots handle a 75 pound box of paper. -
Get trained to be a robot mechanic/programmer and quit your lumper job.
buddyd157 Thanks this. -
This isn’t exactly new. Amazon has been using robots for some time in their warehouses to move boxes around. They look pretty efficient. RIP jobs.
