34 Hour Reset & time spent PC?

I believe you are saying commuting from the terminal to home , correct? If that is the case then yes your 34 would start as soon as you log off duty, if it were the other way around , home to terminal, i believe tjat should be recorded on duty/ driving

I would say if hes driving his truck from house to the terminal , if thats where his next load is, which is what it seems like, i always thought thats supposed to be logged onduty driving since hes advancing toward his pickup/destination...asuming he is driving his rig and not a car

 

When you log the truck in PC you are using it no different then your personal vehicle. You are off duty the moment you put it off duty prior to using ODPC.

 

When we parked the 18 wheeler on our land at home, the moment we touch it it's driving etc.

Very rarely do we have to take a car to the yard.

 

Home to terminal and terminal to home is OK under PC, as long as driver is not dispatched.

The following are examples of appropriate uses of a CMV while off-duty for personal conveyance include, but are not limited to:

1. Commuting between the driver’s terminal and his or her residence, between trailer-drop lots and the driver’s residence, and between work sites and his or her residence. In these scenarios, the commuting distance combined with the release from work and start to work times must allow the driver enough time to obtain the required restorative rest as to ensure the driver is not fatigued.

If you look at some of the other interpretations you will find that some say if home, can't be dispatched then go to terminal under PC. Must not be dispatched, PC to terminal then get dispatched from terminal.

Very simple...if they're paying you to drive home, or to drive back to the yard, then it's on duty...if they're not paying you, then it's PC.
