I have a 2000 kw 900 with a c-15 cat. I removed all my fuel lines and installed a new transfer pump. Now I can’t get fuel to flow. Truck was running fine prior to me messing with it. If I take the return line off fuel filter housing and pump the helllout of it with hand pump I can get a dribble once in a while. Does any one have a diagram of fuel lines? I must have mixed them up somehow under the sleeper where T fittings are. The line fittings appear to have different sizes so hard to mix but here I am. How can u tell which line coming out of tank is pulling and witch one is returning?

the bigger line is pulling

If it where me, I would look towards what was changed first.
The lines were changed with the same sized fittings so that’s hard to mess up.
A transfer pump thought?? Pumps are usually built with bi-directional housings. Have you checked that the lines are plumbed into it the correct direction? And it’s not not out of the realm of human nature that the transfer pump itself was put together wrong and is checking the fuel the wrong direction. -

The pump has two different size lines also so hard to mess that up. I can’t get any traction with the hand pump. Just tried a different hand pump and still nothing. If I take Filters off and fill them the pump will take a little of that fuel and push it through the head then dry up. This is a first start of an inframe and I don’t really want to use starting fluid. There is fuel in the tanks. There is a Y junction where the lines come out of the tanks and splice into the line going to the engine. Maybe it makes a difference how those lines tie together. Maybe a one way valve and I have the lines King the wrong way.

I use a air vacuum evacuator pump to pull fuel up when I change hoses. You could put less than 5psi to the fuel tanks to push the fuel to the primary filter.

Was wondering if you solved your fuel line issue?

Thanks for asking. It helps others to share the solution of a problem
I worked around the problem. I was stressing a bit with the no start because it was the first start on a complete in frame. Replacing the fuel lines should have waited until after I had it running. But I eventually tightened down all lines and gave it s shot of either and it fired up. The hand primer pump still won’t pull fuel from the tanks. If I fill the filters it will push fuel through the head but that’s all. I replaced everything including the secondary filter housing back to the tanks But I have put 16000 miles on engine so far with no issues. It runs like a champ. C-18 cam and c-16 injectors give it an edge on a hill and of course a nice plume of black smoke going through the gears!! Move over Junior!!wore out Thanks this. -
Next time you change lines like that, leave the filter a little loose, or open the vent and shoot a little air in the tank vent, till fuel starts running out, then use your hand pump.
