the other day I got a speeding ticket in my own personal vehicle going to orientation driving through Alabama. I was speeding but I'm very certain I wasn't going the speed that the officer was claiming. I have one of the best radar detectors on the market it's very sensitive and I have sensors on the front and rear of the vehicle. The detector never went off. This officer only seen me visually speeding to go around someone and he took the initiative to yank me over. Yes, I know we're supposed to protect our license at all times and to never speed in jeopardize our CDL.I normally don't speed unless I'm going on long road trips in my own personal vehicle and I'm not going excessively over the speed limit. The most I'll do is 12 over. This officer claims that I was doing 92 in a 70. That is flat out a lie. Here's the deal, I've already spoken with the clerk of courts and they say if I want to fight the case that I have to physically be there in their court house that I can't just hire a lawyer to take place of my presence and handle the case without me being there. I just want to pay the ticket forget about it.

Here's where it gets serious... I want to know since Georgia does not participate in communicating with other states pertaining to traffic citations out of state, will this go on my CDL license in the state of Georgia. I really don't care about just paying a ticket off I just want to just pay it. I also don't care if my insurance premiums go up. I just don't want this to affect me getting better jobs in the future. I know of several student drivers that were turned down by big carriers because they had one speeding ticket that was over 15 miles per hour within three years.

This will go on your license.
FIGHT THAT TICKET. Do whatever you have to.
Make that cop show up and PROVE that you were doing 22 MPH over.
This is GOING to cost you. Maybe that new job. BUT FIGHT that ticket.

    sevenmph and Lepton1 Thank this.

Yes it will go on your record. When I was 22 years old I got a ticket for driving 80 mph in a 55 Tractor/Trailer. The State trooper was not happy. I went to court and fought it myself and I won. I got it reduced to 69 in a 55. Needless to say I learned my lesson that day and I am ticket free today. Fight that ticket!!

how is this going to show on my record when Georgia does not communicate with other states? There's only seven states that do not participate in communicating with other states pertaining to traffic citations including speeding.

Your CDL is Federal. PERIOD. They communicate. If it was just a standard license, no biggie.
But that CDL, is not a standard license. Its FEDERAL.
It will show up, guaranteed. They WILL communicate.

I guess I have no choice but to pay the ticket hope it doesn't show my license. I'm going to be training OTR and won't be back at my house for 6 weeks. There's no way in hell I can be in court for this. It's either fight the ticket pay thousands of dollars and lose my job or roll the dice and just pay the ticket

    FIGHT THAT TICKET.
When they new employer finds our you have a ticket, during orientation. They WILL let you go.
Anything more than 15 over and in most cases is immediate termination.

One of the items you WILL get from them is a violation summary (self incrimination). Failure to disclose that new ticket, is a lie by omission, they will terminate you.

You DON'T have a choice here. FIGHT THAT TICKET. Regardless of cost. FIGHT THAT TICKET.

the court date is not until May 29th 2019 I'll be done with orientation and training and this occurred right before I was hired on. I've read over Georgia laws several times tonight and it clearly states that if you receive an out-of-state violation it will not affect your cdl license unless it's a major violation such as DUI or committing a felony in a non CMV or CMV Screenshot_20190406-001955_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20190406-001955_Chrome.jpg
