Hey folks, first post long time follower.
Have a few questions for the gurus.
installed a scanguage d and it only reads 32psi max, Truck is tuned about 625hp s60 12.7 ddec 4 99. Should be seeing 35 to 40 estimate. Will the map sensor limit boost and fuel if it only sees 32 on the map sensor? The stock map sensor is a 2bar how can I install a 3 bar sensor? Maybe I'm wrong, Since the scan guage reads off the ecm will this affect the fuel vs boost and what the engine needs?
I dont have a mechanical guage installed but will be ordering one shortly to see actual boost readings. I know on my diesel bmw and ecu tuning that is not an issue since they installed 3 bar map sensors. Any insight would help!
Thanks in advance

Mine reads 30 on the Scan Guage and 36-39 on manual factory guage.
DCS Fernando hipped me to this point you mentioned. He repaired the board and tuned.
I'm running BW 1702 and Full tilt now.jamespmack Thanks this. -
2 bar is 29.7 psi. I’d be installing a 3 bar sensor, that should theoretically read up to 44psi. They are cheap enough.

A DD expert explained to me that EMC reads a max of 32 pounds of boost even though my gauge reads 38. Get a boost gauge and hammer down.

The ecm only shows 31.88# boost on a DDEC 4...some displays will round up to 32 or down to 31.5. The sensor is still reading after this. The CEL will usually turn on from high boost at around 43# boost depending on who tuned it.

700-900 is perfect. Hammer down.
As far as boost goes just put a manual gauge in. The ecm only goes to 31 psi on my Detroit. Manual guage goes to 48psi.Guf, Ruthless and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
If the ecm only sees 32psi how is it adding more fuel to more boost? What controls the boost? Fuel? How does it know it needs more fuel for boost of 40 psi?
On my bmw diesel there is a maf and a map sensor so it reads off of those 2 sensors and adds fuel timing according to sensor data.Last edited: Apr 7, 2019
