Can anyone out there help me out? So far all I can find is Progressive, and they have auto-quoted me (strictly through the computer, no human interaction) around $850/month.

What should I expect to pay (bonus points if you're in GA) for a 2014 F-250 pulling a Kaufman 35ft wedge for strictly intrastate?

It just seems weird that the quote form didnt ask much about the trailer, GVWR, etc. I gotta believe a 9car hauler is more than a 2 car wedge....

My truck is rated at 10,000 GVWR. My trailer is 12,000 GVWR....So I fall underneath the need for a CDL. Basically I would be running cars to and from the auction for a handful of local clients.

Anyone in Georgia have an agent they would refer? A company they would refer?

Anyone know of relative prices for a 35yr old with a clean driving record with the equipment I described?

I have already done the numbers, and even at $900/month the insurance isnt that big of a deal, 2-3 days of driving per month pays for the truck and insurance...I just feel like it's way more than it should be.

What are you supposed to do if you run a flatbed normally and you get the odd car to pick up as a partial?
Do you need to call the insurance company and update them in order to pick up the load?

No, according to my agent. Same with mileage, occasionally is the key. But it does concern me when I do. When first starting out you don't have too many choices, I should have shopped around this year but I haul mainly off load boards, and average 2 new carrier sign ups a week, and they do take care of business, also, are you sure you don't need a cdl as hauling commercial, I have noticed Dot getting down on hot shot operations

The3someTrailer is from Georgia. Here are the Georgia license classes. https://dmv.ny.gov/forms/mv500c.pdf
Similar to my NY license, you can drive any combination of vehicles under 26000 lbs legally.
If you are running legal by DOT standards they have nothing to crack down on.
Stay within the weight limit, don't overload the axles, have a medical card, and all the necessary paperwork and tools and you are good to go.

$850 a month is a low rate. I got quoted $12-13k a year from progressive with a 1 ton truck and a flatbed trailer no cars, 1 million liability and 100k cargo.

I wonder how much a 2 car hauler can make on average?

If your trailer is over 10k you need a CDL

I have 14k Trailer been running since 2008. It depends on what state you are registered in. I am registered at 26,000 lbs. no CDL required.
