MBI is a good company. I did my training at their facility in 2013. They are one of the big players up there.

For what it’s worth I make 27 percent as a w2 driver here in New Mexico. For me to consider 1099 I would need to see at least 35 percent. It’s not just the extra taxes you have to think about. There is other things like work comp, health insurance. Most 1099 jobs are a bad deal.

Also in crude hauling it is very important to know the rate and where the truck owner is in the food chain. You want to be as close to the company buying the oil as possible for the best rate.

1099 is for owner/op's, mostly.
there are law suits out there for companies that have cheated drivers, by saying 1099 and treating you as an employee.
