Anybody driving to Newark terminals here? Cops won't let you park & sleep for the night on Tyler, Export or any other streets around PNCT anymore.
Does anybody know wtf is happening? I've been coming here for almost 3 years, never had this until now. I hope it's temporary.
(I wanted to ask them but they didn't stop after waking up everyone, yelling 'you can't sleep here anymore' on the speaker, and they drove off)
Cops won't let you sleep around Port of Newark anymore?

In a 18 wheeler you run into conflict with Federal Law in HOS when in sleeper.
To be blunt, you don't matter. Your truck is in the way. Move it.
Here is a brief on how bad many cities have learned to criminalize any form of camping or sleeping etc.

I really don't understand wtf they want us to do. This is not a residential area, no other traffic than trucks and there is more than enough space on the sides.all these years we had no problems and suddenly they decided the clean the streets from "the filthy truckers"!
bzinger Thanks this. -
And yes there are some filthy truckers out there. I really hate to say it's true.
New Brunswick, Lombardi, Darien CT and a host of other little spots come to mind.
Disclaimer, I have parked badly in NJ before. They would ticket me and I pay the fine. Cost of doing business. It has no meaning. -
This enforcement is probably the result of the long lines of trucks waiting to get into the marine terminals of Newark/Elizabeth. It was a hazard then it is an even a bigger hazard now. So they're dealing with it. Now you have to adapt. Park at the Pilot on Doremus ave. or one of the rest area's along the Turnpike.

Town probably got tired of cleaning the trash and piss bottles left everywhere.

Welcome to the Eastern Seaboard.
Where long-haul is a different beast & anyone who trucks is 100% a-okay with running local.
You all seen the Megalopolis map?
That's just a small section. It actually runs Portland, ME to Richmond, VA... a little gap in the Carolinas then back to extreme density in Florida..... Over here, you're surrounded by idiots ALL the time! -

Others go there now for us, mostly teams, but I have been there.
