but I'm not a trucker. I do respect y'all though. I stay out of the middle lane as y'all need it for passing. I stay off of my CB except to help with directions near my home or for 'radio check' requests.
I got my first CB way back in the early 70s. I added a base station(one of the tube-type 10 meter ones) and talked DX around a good part of the world just using a ground plane up in a tree. I no longer have a base.
I have three CB/10 meter portables; a Superstar(didn't realize it had a blasted Roger beep that couldn't be turned off until recently), a Ranger RCI 2950DX(needs repairing), and a Ranger 6300 Turbo(not sure of its model number and it's where I can't get to it right now). Two of them are mounted in my F150s including one in my 2001 F150 Lightning. Also have a little(about the size of a paperback novel) Cobra in my wife's Murano.
I don't go anywhere without one of my CBs. My handle is Lightninrod on 19.
Btw, I posted in the "CB Shops" thread about wanting to know if any of y'all know of a shop within 50 miles or so of MM 144(between Perry and Byron, GA) where I can get my 2950 repaired.
Been CBing for a long time
