So how far did you have to have to move the Komatsu frame with the T800/C12/10 speed? There’s no mountains around Houston, so unless you started the trip from a hilly region, I suppose that once you got it rolling you weren’t holding up traffic too bad. I’ve used my old T800/C13-330/10 speed a few times for 118,000 lb gross weight on the interstate and it worked out okay. Rolling hills pulled me down to under 50 mph a few times. Got a few friendly single finger salutes.

40 years ago, they said go pick up that dozer you dropped off in the spring. O' by the way it's on the other side of the mountain now.

Pic #1 throwing iron on while I wait for the dozer 8.jpg
Pic #2 If you look, you can see an elk hanging from a tree, just over the trailer. It's hunting season and I end up in someones elk camp. 6.jpg
Pic #3 All loaded up and ready to get down off the mountain.

Maybe. I am going to borrow a buddy's 4 axle trailer and haul it across the scales, and find out exactly what it (345) weighs without the counterweight. If I can get down to 95K or under I will be able to haul it with my trailer. Otherwise I'll look into a bigger trailer, or just hire it hauled. I don't move it often, but there are certainly more smaller jobs that I could do with it if the cost of moving wasn't so high.

    How's out-of-retirement #2 (or 3, or 4) going!

It's about 4 now. I'm OK with it. They are making an effort to keep me off the loop de loop end dump jobs and just lowbed work. I don't mind the occasional end dump load. They are looking for a 4th truck so they can have 3 enddumps running all the time.
