I ended up with Wednesday extra. Which means I have to again find the delicate balance of working back my start time without being a 2am zombie and still getting decent miles on the weekend because Sunday is end of week.
Friend of mine decided he didn’t want to slip seat so after 4 years he called it quits.
Personally I think it was a dumb idea for many reasons.
Programs and realignment.

1- ending your week on Saturday, you donate half the weekend and don’t get extra mile pay
2- starting on Sunday, you donate half your weekend and don’t get extra mile pay
3- the natural rotation of the program means sometimes a whole weekend off
4- less overall working days per year equals less gross pay.
Also I do not consider shared trucks “assigned” trucks. Three drivers, two trucks. Law of averages says one of those guys is going to be either a slob or an OCD nest freak who Qtips the vents three times a day and will be upstairs complaining about the other two all the time.
We had one guy upstairs complaining that another in his program left too many rolls of paper towels in the truck.
I’m not kidding.
No thanks on the rotating shared truck propaganda.Northeasterner Thanks this. -
More paper towels equals more weight. Now I can't fill my fuel tanks!
Northeasterner and TransplantBadger Thank this. -

I got a guy hired on (who may not work out if he doesn’t remove his head) who doesn’t even have 90 days in and wanted a 6/3.
I like the predictability of a static schedule though. My DC allows voluntary extension quite often also so if a guy insists on running into day 6, usually that’s accommodated.
My frustration is that after 2.5 years it shouldn’t be this difficult to get a single assigned truck.
I’m losing patience with hearing empty four syllable words.
I ran 132,000 last year and made around 104k.
If I can do that in 5 days with a handful of voluntaries and peak season mandatories, they’re getting their #### statistics on truck usage.
Normally I don’t mod week slip seat so it’s not the end of the world, but when I think about it the more annoyed I get.slim6596 Thanks this.
