Well everything happens for a reason I hated the back office part of having my authority so I have no wish to go back to that if I can help it. This opportunity allows me to get back to having control. I’ve missed that if I was closer to Alabama I’d ask if you was willing to lease on a truck. Glad you are okay I’ll always be around hell I might even get to meet you guys since I will be running the south east a lot more once I switch. A buddy of mine rolled his truck and trailer doubt he will buy my trailer but he might lease it for a while till he decides what to do next!! I’m done for the week. My carrier is using my trailer as storage till Monday I can’t wait till Thursday be good all

I'm not sure where you live, but try Page Transportation or US Bulk or ZFS.

For those hauling out of the Erie PA Coke plant.
I've commented before on what I believe are attempts to shut down the plant, here's todays news.

"The company, at the foot of East Avenue, must also follow specific cleanup guidelines.

Chemicals including ammonia and cyanide spilled onto the ground from a leaky above-ground holding tank at Erie Coke Corp. on Sunday, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is requiring the company to clean up the spill according to specific environmental guidelines.

Details of the spill, as well as new violations alleged by DEP, are included in what’s known as a field order, filed by DEP against Erie Coke on Monday.

In that order, DEP claims that Erie Coke failed to properly operate and maintain the tank in question; that wastewater was released onto the ground without a permit; and that the spill created a danger of pollution to nearby Lake Erie.

Erie Coke’s plant is located at the foot of East Avenue.

DEP officials have ordered Erie Coke to submit a written plan, by Thursday, for removing wastewater from the tank in question and mandated that a certified professional test the tank within the next 10 days.

Further, DEP has ordered Erie Coke to properly dispose of “wastewater and impacted soils/material” and “remediate the release of wastewater” from the tank within the next 30 to 60 days, according to the field order.

The plant produces coke that is used to make steel. The order states that the tank that failed is part of an industrial wastewater treatment system that processes wastewater used in coke production.

According to the order, a hole developed in the tank on March 18 and approximately 300 gallons of wastewater spilled inside the plant.

DEP officials inspected the plant on March 19, and Erie Coke had the tank repaired by welding a large metal plate to it.

The tank failed again on Sunday, the DEP field order states, releasing an unspecified amount of wastewater that “contains, among other regulated substances, benzene and naphthalene, ammonia and cyanide” onto the ground.

DEP officials returned to Erie Coke on Monday to investigate.

Sunday’s incident is the latest regulatory problem for Erie Coke.

The DEP, in a 16-page administrative order issued on Feb. 4, said it found several ongoing air-quality violations at the Erie Coke plant, including the release of “visible emissions” from its smokestack and coke ovens in amounts that exceed those allowed under the Pennsylvania Air Pollution Control Act.

The DEP has ordered Erie Coke to undertake a number of actions to comply with the state’s clean-air regulations and the terms of an operating permit that the company is seeking.

Erie Coke has asked the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board to vacate a number of requirements the state Department of Environmental Protection ordered in February to fix air-quality problems at the plant.

A resolution sponsored by Erie City Councilwoman Kathy Schaaf requests that council send a formal letter to DEP regarding the toxic pollution emerging from” Erie Coke’s plant at the foot of East Avenue.

Council will consider that resolution at its meeting Wednesday morning in the Bagnoni Council Chambers at City Hall."

    More;

"Erie City Councilwoman Kathy Schaaf wants to send a formal letter to state officials about “toxic pollution” at the eastside plant.

Erie City Councilwoman Kathy Schaaf wants Erie Coke Corp. to clean up its act.

A Schaaf-sponsored resolution on City Council’s Wednesday meeting agenda requests that council send a formal letter to the state’s Department of Environmental Protection “regarding the toxic pollution emerging from” Erie Coke’s plant at the foot of East Avenue.

The plant produces coke that is used to make steel.

The DEP has ordered Erie Coke to undertake a number of actions to comply with the state’s clean-air regulations and the terms of an operating permit that the company is seeking.

Erie Coke, however, has asked the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board to vacate a number of requirementsthe state Department of Environmental Protection ordered in February to fix air-quality problems at the plant.

The DEP requirements were the latest in a series of regulatory issues for Erie Coke, where a minor chemical leak was reported as recently as Sunday.

Schaaf’s resolution also states “whereas the Erie Coke Plant has in the past been non-compliant, this Council wishes to make certain that they follow the specific rules of operating their plan within the mandates of the Environmental Protection Agency.”

If approved, Schaaf said she will forward a draft of a letter she is now writing to DEP. She is asking her City Council colleagues to sign the letter.

Schaaf said that air-quality compliance has been “an ongoing problem at Erie Coke for years. That coke plant, with toxic emissions and not following through with what they’re supposed to do, is not complying.”

A man who answered the telephone at Erie Coke on Monday said no one at the plant would comment.

An Erie community organization, Hold Erie Coke Accountable, is closely monitoring the Erie Coke case. One of the group’s organizers, Erie Benedictine Sister Pat Lupo, applauded Schaaf for pushing the resolution forward.

“We need to get this issue in front of as many people as possible, and a resolution like this helps to do that,” Lupo said. “Government needs to take a stand on issues like this.”

The DEP’s Feb. 4 order said the department found ongoing violations at the plant, at the foot of East Avenue, including the release of “excessive visible emissions” from its smokestack and coke ovens. Erie Coke’s appeal calls several of the requirements “vague, unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious.”

Councilwoman Liz Allen plans to second Schaaf’s resolution on Wednesday, which is necessary to bring the measure to a vote.

“This company has a long history of not complying with environmental regulations,” Allen said. “As City Council members, we have to be concerned about the health and safety of Erie residents who live near the plant. ... We need industry and we need the jobs that industry brings, but they have to play by the rules.”
