Quick update. I got enough current experience in and will start with another company. I had to be creative to get back to the terminal, since they won’t let your turn in your equipment to any other location besides Nashville. Delivered in GA and explained that I needed a repair, which was legit and asked for a load nearby. Delivered and got the dm’s permission to “get truck serviced”. Pulled into the yard, emptied my belongings and did a quick once over and got a ride back home.
Again, I’ve been in trucking about 12 years and didn’t have experience available in the last three and couldn’t get hired because of that. This was the only company that would do that for me, but it didn’t pan out. Miles started to evaporate the last month. I think they starve you intentionally to convince you to become a trainer. I refused on principle because of the noob on noob training system. Again, only work with these guys if you need current experience then get out or if you have a bad history and have no choice.
This is the most unorganized company I have ever worked for in my life. Combine that with how the dm’s are paid commission and you begin to see how this conflict of interests leads to so many scheduling problems and unwillingness to get trucks serviced in a timely manner, even after dot violations. This was my experience after it started out so well while being professional and timely. Your experience may differ. My final conclusion is stay away unless you have no options.Hillbilly hauler, Rocknroller4 and otterinthewater Thank this. -
