After 25yrs as a company driver I'm thinking about taking the plunge and going O/O.

I'm looking at Bruce Oakley, bulk tanks, to lease onto. Any insites into specing a truck for bulk? I've hauled fuel tanks but no bulk. I'm looking at like 14/15 Cascadias.

I know everyone has there favorite brand of truck and with all the electronics and exhaust nonsense used trucks are crap shoot. What are your opinions on used truck warranties?

Any other tips would be great.

If you don't have the experience then you wont start off pulling tanks at Oakley. They will have you start out on dumps & etc.

I've pulled fuel tanks for Loves. Bottom load mostly gravity dump. It's been a while since I've run a PTO or pump.

    I misread the post.
I thought the op was looking to buy 14 or 15 Cascadia trucks. The extended warranties are only good as the shop.

That's pretty much with any repair. I was wondering about if they jerk you around about paying for covered repairs or nickle and dime the repair.

Yes, and yes. More often than not.
The DD15 can become a money pit. Keep looking for posts about them and or the DD13.

That's not what they want. If you don't have bulk tanker experience then you will start off in other departments.

Ok, I see what you're saying. Worst they can do is say no.

Last time I gave O/O serious thought was like 10/11 and looking at mainly 07/08s with ISX engines and trusty old Eaton 10s

Dry box and reefer freight seems a bit congested that's why I was looking at more specialized stuff
