Going to start driving again, do I need a refresher course?

Oh, no! It's Mark from Trucking Answers. I hope he doesn't tell me I'm the Crap TTR poster of the week. :(

With going on four years with IRT, I am topped out at fifty cents per mile. I suspect everyone will receive another raise come January.

Since I run mostly in the west going from Washington to L.A. at least twice a week, I average $800 to $1100. But I can break the monotony and take a California to Florida load, which I just did. Last time I delivered to Florida, I took a load out to Spokane. So, long runs are certainly an option.

Our freight is no-touch, easy easy work.
No one is micromanaging your every move.

Most tank washes offer free driver showers and laundry.

It's been a really good job for me. Somewhere that I fit. There's even about six other drivers that I like to shoot the breeze with if we're all at the same shipper or consignee.

But, if you go with Tri Mac, give us an honest assessment of your experience with them.

And triple check where the product is going before hooking to the silo.

All my time as a fuel delivery driver I never did a wrong station or contam. Now I'm not saying I never pulled into the wrong station or hooked up to the wrong tanks, I'm just saying I never opened the valve. Check, check and then double-check.

I worked for Indian River in 2009 so I don’t know if they have changed, but the miles were inconsistent. And my biggest complaint was sitting while waiting for my next load. They paid a paltry $40 per day for layover (after 48 hours), but would move you 50 to 100 miles just before the 48 hours was up. Hopefully they’ve changed in the last 10 years. The mileage pay was pathetic at the time, as well. I just inked a contract to run as an O/O for Trimac (not lease op) and I like what I hear about it. I’ll post updates.
