I know most of these threads are in regard to the quality of washrooms, food ,parking etc. This is in regards to the maintenance department. Just trying to avoid any drivers/Owner Ops going there and possibly getting set up for a nightmare. I work in safety, track mileage, dispatch for service along routes, when mechanics arent caught up. More or less using any of the name brands across 80 and 40. This TA however has been under the radar, destroying peoples trucks through simple preventive services. Like ours the other day. 2018 freightliner, went in for a PM. at 11 on a WED, driver did not let us know till thursday morning. That PM had a bump and the unit could not be restarted. We should have warned drivers that this TA had failed to reinstall fuel filters on multiple occasions (due to brand or bad workmanship) allowing air into the fuel lines etc.

They botched this repair . were going to tow to freightliner without our consent and basically reinstalled parts and experimented on a truck that was running perfectly when it arrived. after 2 days of priming and fuel filter changes they gave up and we were forced to tow to nearby freightliner . Speaking with lady there, we find out about other trucks that have been OOS'd there as well. Some never came back. all in all to get it running again cost 6000. we have an "access" account spoke with several reps and they said they would reimburse.
But WE paid out of pocket for their negligence.

Till this day all TA's operate on their own accord. So under the umbrella for the name, but to each its own.
So they arent responsible for anything. we have been fighting that because we pour money into this place.
that and loves. and loves operates very similarly. no liability whatsever for its mistakes even if proven.

I wouldn't let TA pop the hood on my truck...
About the only thing I would let them do is an emergency tire change, even then they would be last on the list of shops I call out.

They failed to install fuel filters?? What does that mean.
Your driver didn't mention it till the next day, what was the thinking behind that.
What engine are we working with here, that took over 2 days and 6,000 bucks to prime the fuel system??

Toss bad filters, fill new ones spin on and done. If you have a good fuel pump and so on, all of that should be settled quickly enough. Not enough information as to the root cause.. the priming sounds like a fix it more than a root problem.

so many details , they thought it was the manual primer that was broken, replaced it with another primer.
an aftermarket that did not work proper. that spinned the whole situation out of control. so rather then installing them correctly the first go around. removing them in order to not allow air to fill lines, they botched it! and this has happened many times before. But they allowed to sit because we had paid already and werent a priority despite their mistakes. Yeah it sounds simple, which is why we were so mad!

What on Earth cost six grand? What could they possibly mess up on a PM that cost that much? I could see ruining the fuel pump by continuously cranking it without prime since fuel lubricates it. But a brand new pump is only $1250.

  9. is anybody called down to Nashville Tennessee has to speak to Homer Hogg?? perhaps he can go out there and work at that shop for a week or two and fire hire who he needs to.. if you don't know who Homer is and don't worry too much about it. It's only a thought

    "Only"

S I G H... the last one I bought to feed that 351 double pump holley came out to a cool 130 installed. The stock pump was bypassed because it could not feed enough gasoline to the hungry holleys at top end. If anything I had to be careful not to flood the valve jitter with too much mixture at 5100 RPM.

Uh? That gasoline pump did maybe 50 psi, right? The DD15 HP fuel pump does 110 psi on the low side and over two thousand on the fuel rail side.
