I was doing a 45 45 into a parking space at a truck stop during training. My trainer was my ground guide. I was expressing to him that I couldn’t see the truck beside me. He continued to guide me in the direction. The tail end of the trainer made contact with the front end of the tractor beside it. How long will an preventative accident be on my DAC report. It’s not on my MCR
How long will an at fault accident appear on my DAC?

Sounds like your trainer is an idiot.
TripleSix, motocross25, buddyd157 and 5 others Thank this. -
Won't go on your dac till you quit, if then. Depends if the trainer or company stuck it on you. Ask.
Document the date and details anyway, just in case, and note it was in training. Shouldn't be much of an issue for hiring at a different company, unless you try to hide it.
Btw, learn anything? Like goal? -
Are you attending a trucking company cdl school?
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
That's not good, you apparently knew of a big rig on your right. Even if you suspected it. Why did you move right? YOU are the final captain of the ship as it were the trainer can only give suggestions. Now... if this is a school then the trainer screwed up very badly and it should be looked at carefully.
However if you are talking about DAC already, you probably are with a company. That would be failure to stay in lane charge to the state via citation and the damages will belong to your company to pay. It's going to be your fault.
Ive broken say a curbing which was worth a thousand dollars in Sayre once, that took three years to stop telling and retelling that story to future employers who pretty much laughed, particularly the later ones when they saw just how tight it was for a spread axle.UsualSuspect Thanks this. -
Everybody has got to stop worrying about DAC. DAC is only a service that helps a carrier stay in compliance wirh 391. Even if DAC dropped the accident the carrier has a record that is part of your PERMANENT file. YOU the driver have got to fill out an application and honestly answer those questions. If they ask for 3 years back and the accident was 4 your good.

It'll stay on your DAC (when you quit) for 7 years, then DAC can no longer give out that information by law.
anytime you fill out a job application, make sure you mark that down, as it IS A COMPANY black mark, not a DMV black mark, which DMV records can be for 3 or 5 years.
as long as your employer is in business, they will most certainly inform any new employer
in also other news, many employers MAY NOT even cooperate with a new employer, asking for a reference. they may only decide to give your start date and end date, and your job duties.
in the end...GET OUT AND LOOK.....(GOAL), take NO ONE'S WORD..... -
Till the cows come home.

A DAC entry can be challenged with proof by filing a DATQ. But you need evidence to support its conclusion, time, ect.

Use DataQs to file concerns about Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) reports and to monitor status of your current RDR.
how is a DAC report like the PSP report????
