I got a dui 2 years ago and I had cdl. My cdl was suspended for 3 years because I was carrying hazmat. I have one more year left. Is there anything I can do to get them back sooner. Or any programs for that? I live in Nashville TN.. Thanks

Nope. Suspended means suspended. They are serious about this. Hazmat makes it even worse.

Once your year is up and you are able to get back out there, make sure that you have nothing around you in your life that can make another DUI, you can run the risk of losing that license for a very long time.

Early? I hate to say it guy but after getting a dui while operating a truck you may not find any company to take a chance on you. I heard some companies will after 5 years but that's after getting one in a car. . Time will tell. Good luck with that.

I know transam will hire you after 2 years on duis however your actual cdl? There is nothing you can do to get it back you need to do the time if you do the crime my friend. Drinking and driving while you have a cdl tho? Man that’s pretty stupid. I got a dui in my younger years but I didn’t have a cdl you got me messed up if I’d risk it now no freeking way. Bad decision now you gotta wait

Only way is to get back I. Front of the judge.

Some states or even some judges will reduce it if you plea your case.

On that note. You shouldn’t even be drinking at all if you plan on driving the same day or next.

I don't think any judges can rescind federal laws. Only local laws.

Kind of falls in lines with masking and no safety classes for reduction.

We're basically screwed and stuck with any tickets we get.

I didn't know if we got one in our car. It's 1 year cdl suspension.

You probably should consider staying with your current employment.

Judge doesn't have anything to do with it. FMCSA says dui in a commercial vehicle disqualifys you for one year. Except like in his case a dui when hauling hazmat, mandatory three years.

If you’re in Nashville, you might consider a country music career.

I was driving my truck drunk
But thought it was just a buzz
I was weaving back and forth
And got stopped by the fuzz

    He gave me sobriety tests
And i guess I must have failed
Now they’re impounding my load of explosives
And I’m headed off to jail

    Chorus

    Oh won’t somebody hire me
Now that I’m a much drier me
    I now believe in sobriety
    Oh won’t somebody hire me

    @snowman_w900 @Humblepie care to add a verse?
