I have an issue with the 880 squealing when someone is talking to me, but they can hear me fine. It kinda sounds like they are a channel off. Can anyone tell me what that could be? I've changed coax and antenna...maybe the mic?

Not an expert, but it could be a ground issue.

Is this something new that just started with your radio? Or has the radio always been this way?

With the cobra 25 radios, you will see a .01 µF capacitor installed between pin 4 (audio input) and ground of the audio chip to solve the squeal on receive problem. Not sure if this is the same problem with the 880 radio or not.

Ive had a 880 for about 4 years and use it off and on, never had similar issue, receive is generally good, more white noise and static then a Cobra 29 but it has goid ears.

Matter fact the majority of radios with SMT that I have purchased tend to have a hotter receive with more static then say a cobra 29.

Why a 29 is no longer worth it.

A 980 with some DSP in the receive audio kicks ahh.

I’ve never used an 880 radio, thanks for the info. Unfortunately the OP didn’t give us much to work with as far as helping him with his radio problem.

I also own a 980 which I really like, but the 880 has an actual Rf gain knob to make it easier to adjust while driving and also on the board there is a amc adjustment pot so you can have modulation increased.

    slim6596 and Slowmover1 Thank this.
