Just got my oil sample back showing .54% water in my 06 ISX, should I be concerned about a head gasket? All other wear metals showed ok

Just water? No glycols or silicates? If its just water its likely not a head gasket or anything like that. More likely just crankcase vapours or maybe you had a bit of water leak in from an engine wash or something.

Change your oil, and sample again in about 10,000 miles.
That may help solve this.
Replace 1 gallon oil with 80/90wt gear lube, it's an what ISX fans do.
Because Lucas is useless. -
The only problem with putting gear oil in the motor oil is it can cause the oil to foam them lose oil press.

bzinger Thanks this.

Lucas is not a high pressure lubricant.
Gear oil is. ISX the Dual cam ones like to spit cams. Because of many reasons. Cummins is also a low pressure oil system. -
Roll the berings. (No I don't think it will help).
-
.54% water is not too much.

Who is these experts, that are using gear oil?? Is that a Cummins recommendation?
AModelCat Thanks this.
