Palm Coast is better than Jacksonville and only about 40 miles south of Jacksonville.
    Superior-Carriers
    Service Transport - www.svtn.com
Groendyke Transport - just purchased McKenzie Tank Lines in Florida.

Eagle Transport has a terminal in Jacksonville.

But if you don't want to haul nasty chemicals around or be an IED wet dream, you could drive for Indian River Transport. I've been with IRT almost four years now it's been great.

Winterhaven and the surrounding area is quite nice. Nothing is run down. No creepazoids running around. Well, nothing major, anyway. Just the usual rednecks going out and about.

I moved from Detroit to just south of cocoa beach two years ago. I went with Genox pulling cryo. For the last 18 months all of my work was for air products in.... the metro Detroit area. A.P paid for plane tickets for my home time to eliminate travel time back and forth. I like it. Clean work, decent money, best part is no appointments anywhere, EVER ! You start your day when you feel like it, you can load/ deliver 24/7. You don’t need signatures on bills, so customer can be all locked up, nobody home. You get paid one way or another for everything you do. There’s no sitting around for free, ALL load/ unload time is paid mileage pay is from point of pickup-to delivery-to next point of pickup, and is off your odometer, not some B.S. computer program.

That's not been remotely close to my experience at Tidewater. Not the highest paying tanker company out there, but "poverty on a stick" as a description is tremendous hyperbole.
