When my 1999 freightliner century was stolen in 2003, what they did is punch the ignition out of the dashboard and unplugged the ignition switch and just plugged theiR own ignition switch in.TruckRunner Thanks this. -

Either it will be found within a week to 10 days. Could be faster depends on when someone complains it's been sitting there.
OR
It won't be found, but insurance company will make you wait 30 days. Hope you were not upside down on a loan? -

Also, there are anti-theft regulations for automobiles that do not apply to commercial vehicles, so inless the manufacturers were forced to they won't put the tech into big trucks.JoeyJunk Thanks this. -

The $125 price tag is simply dealer price gouging. -
Yes, some are cheaper but not all. I am sure the fleets could twist the truck makers arm into using less expensive keys.
