I saw one particular trailer of theirs on the road twice in the span of a week or two where the entire top panel of the roll door was completely missing. It made me wonder how many days they ran the thing like that. I always see swing door trailers of theirs with missing door seals that they "fix" with that heavy metallic tape. It's a raggedy fleet for sure.

I know from my own experience that you're right that the likelihood of being inspected is pretty low at night in most places. However, the rare times our drivers actually do get inspected typically happens on their way back home in the morning.

I wouldn't want to be placarded dragging some of those trailers back into my city in the morning from nearly any direction, and especially coming from the west. DOT cops often hang out in the middle outside of town and are also regularly seen on the outerbelt 1 exit from where the CT guys get off to go to their terminal. We're "well protected" in The Buckeye!

Old Dominion, UPS Freight, and Central Transport are all in that same part of town. If I was the DOT guy, I'd probably be checking out the CT trucks over those other guys. Just sayin'. Now, I will say this: I'd work for Central Transport in a heartbeat before I'd take any OTR job ever again. It's a great-paying, home daily job regardless of the negatives. I just wouldn't put them at the top of the list.

I’d say the only outfit out there immune from inspection is USPS. Everyone is fair game although DOT does seem to leave UPS alone for the most part.

Well I made the very tragic mistake of going to work for these clowns and needless to say I'm hating every second of it! So far in my first week here the shortest day I worked was 12 hours, you have to work the dock in Indy and then work the dock at your home terminal until your 14 hours is up. A couple nights ago I was stuck on I74 for 2 hours because the doors on their junk trailers tried falling off and guess what? I had to finish out my 14 on the dock as soon as I got back! The trucks are halfway decent,2017 Pete 579's but they are very basic and can only do 62. If you want to know more about this place just read all the 1 star reviews on Indeed because they are 100% true! These guys make Dohrn Transfer look like a gravy job!

I don't, and never have worked for them, but how can they be paying guys on a 1099 while offering health insurance and 401k?

i don't know, but at the time, back then, when ever we had to apply for a job, we had to take the 66 questions test...old timers will recall this...anyway, they gave me a stack of papers, outlining everything, including the health benefits, thru Cherokee insurance. (if you wanted it, you paid for it, but i cannot say if it was discounted or full price)

so as i had said, THAT WAS WAY BACK WHEN....dockworkers, office people, sales people, EVERYONE was on a 1099...

i simply cannot help it, if things change over the years, now can i...????

i hardly follow up on loser employers, and if you had also read some of the other responses, you would have read where some of thier equipment is as bad as ANY NEMF stuff was......
