Years ago some US Steel union workers in Bessemer, AL threatened bodily harm to a trucker and he ran over them. Don't remember how many were killed, but I think he only got 7 years. Does anyone else remember that?

A buddy of mine once did what I've dreamed of doing for a long time.
He was delivering to a power plant that he'd been going to every night for years. Right where he had to unload, there's an ash conveyor right beside the truck, and it's usually very windy. The ash usually blows over the truck and trailer. If it rains, it stains the chrome and paint. Makes a real mess of things.
His boss called the power plant, and asked if they could shut off the conveyor while his trucks were unloading, as the truck wash bills were getting out of hand. They agreed to shut it off.
My buddy went in one rainy night, they turned everything off, and he started unloading. After a bit, the conveyor starts back up and covers him and his truck. So he finally retaliated.
He unhooks from the silo, drives over to the employee parking lot, where there happens to be an open garage door. He backed up to the door, and unloaded the last 2 tons of limestone into their garage. Made a big mess.
After the plant operator realized what was happening, he called my buddy's boss, ready to have my buddy arrested. But, they ultimately decided against it after they were told that if they press charges, the local news would be alerted over the numerous environmental concerns around the plant. Not wanting negative exposure, the power plant dropped the matter. But not before banning my buddy from ever going there again.
He got a week of unpaid vacation as a reward for his efforts. After returning, he was given a much nicer plant to service. -

Closest I came after unwarranted abuse was to drop the loaded flatbed (tarps & straps removed) blocking the exit and cleaning out my truck shortly thereafter.
Company always gave me a stellar recommendation.Rideandrepair, PoleCrusher, blairandgretchen and 4 others Thank this. -
I had been hauling out of a galv plant for 30 years. Well, I switched jobs and hadn't been back there for awhile when I went in to pick up a load of color-galv. There was some mix up with accounting cuz they had us on COD. So while I'm waiting for this to get fixed, I'm strapping my load, being extra cautious not to scratch the material. I get back to our plant and one of our office girls tells me that someone called from the galv plant complaining I was "hanging out" there. She told me who it was and I recognized the name as the owners daughter. So next time I'm over there, I see the daughter at the coffee truck and asked her why she would call my company? She didn't have much to say, but then when I get back to our plant, I find out she called again and told my company not to send me back there again...
I guess our company said we had a lot of material for them and I would be back. So next time I go in and see the owner himself. He was a nice old guy who would wander around the yard occasionally. He recognized me as a longtime customer. Well I explained to him what had happened, and asked if I had a problem there? His answer was, "No, you don't have a problem here, I'll speak to my daughter"Cattleman84, alds, Rideandrepair and 6 others Thank this.
