Engine blocks and steer axles don't just up and disappear like that, no matter how hot the fire.

Yeah, I'm thinking the large metal pieces like that were likely loaded up and taken somewhere else. The more I see the pics, the more like they sawed or jaws of lifed or whatever the front portion of the truck so they could pull the trailer to somewhere else.

My guess is it was a homemade stretch job and the frame broke. You can see where it looks like fish plate holes were drilled. That goat trail they call a highway there would break the frame on a Baja trophy truck.

No ####, that stretch of road is about 45 mph in a semi at best.

At first I thought that was it on the back of the flat bed. But that's the back of the dry van he hit. So I didn't think to ask the wrecker driver.

I park at this wrecking yard about once a month to go to the hotel across the street. But when I saw the leftovers of the truck I said @#% &#$@% darn.

La is a poor state I highly doubt the problem gets addressed. Unless they legalize weed to get more money from taxing it. But I'm not trying to turn this into a political thread.

The nice thing about driver inattention. It thins itself.

Condolences to the next of kin

We would all like to know that.

  11. unfortunately all these Southern States had a chance years ago when the northern states were expanding and expanding highways to accommodate the traffic that was getting heavier and heavier..some now have eight ten Lanes wide. the south is now playing catch up with everybody else like they always do trying to expand the roads but too little too late the death toll the crash rate and everything else says volumes..GPS is are bringing more and more fools on roads where you never used to see him before but the sad part is the South had a chance to expand the road they opted to take the highway fund money and use it for other things.
