I totally agree. At least with this video, someone is doing something about obvious corruption within some companies. It did say that there were numerous complaints from truckers so I'm glad some are speaking out and actually getting things noticed by others outside the industry. Where it goes from here is anyone's guess, especially since it originated in one of the more corrupt states in the country. They'll probably turn it around into a "Save the Whales" campaign or use it for an excuse to raise taxes.

As far as the ports go; this is another reason they're pushing for robotic ports; as the Chinese call the "ghost ports" because only 9 people manage and run huge port facilities.

Ghost ports are being built in the USA because the Longshoreman Union and truckers cause so many expensive problems.

NJ is also trying to force all pier owner operators into being drivers.

The 'Mis-classification' effort is being driven by the local Teamsters boss.

He keeps telling the legiscritters that all pier drivers are are being forced to be owner operators by leasing deals, etc. and is waiving all the uncollected unemployment and workers comp dollars that the state's coffers badly need.

NJ Dept of Labor is sharpening their axe except one of the first 'trial' cases is already in Federal court...

Zero sympathy for any of these port drivers.
Nobody put a gun to their head.
They were dum enough to sign a lease,
    That's their problem.

They had a choice. They choose to work
Like a dog and get ripped off.
But they were home every night.

The rest of us chose to sacrifice our home time
For a real job that pays real money.
    But they don't want that.

Everybody knows the ports are one big ripoff.
    Always has been.
    Don't work there,plain and simple.
There a 1000 trucking jobs open everyday.

Seems like every 4 months these port driver
Are striking or complaining about low pay
Or being ripped off Somewhere in the country.

    They get what they deserve.
Do like we do. Load up the sleeper and hit
The road for a couple weeks at a time and make
    Some money and stop complaining.

One look at the equipment going in and out of a port
All day is all you need know about what your
    Getting yourself into.

The whole place reeks of junky equipment, lairs, thieves,
    Con men, scam artists.
Old mafia style bosses running the whole place.

Nothing about a port says legit, respect, honesty, fair. Nothing.
3 moths from now it'll be in New Orleans, or Newark or wherever.
They'll be in front of another news camera complaining about
How they worked a 100 hours a week for 50 bucks. Lol.
These guys are unbelievable. It never changes.

I remember another strike they had previously that lasted a month. There were probably at least 50 ships anchored off the coast, even outside the harbor off Orange County. The longshoremen outlasted the shipping companies, though. Easy to do when you're getting paid $100K+ per year.
