So what's the deal with this lanternfly insect in PA? According to PA State police they will start issuing fine $300 for truck drivers that don't complete 2 hour training. Honestly I think this is the dumbest thing I ever heard of, on top of all the things we have to deal with now we should look for insect on a semi? I think it's just another way to collect money from carriers and drivers

its PA whatya expect, this the same state that closes every interstate when 1 snowflake touches the ground.. its definatly stupid, although it looks like its just certain counties on that eastern side of PA if i remeber the chart correctly.... i assume as long as u dont pick up or deliver there then you should be alright... but who knows

The drivers don't need to complete the 2 hour training. Only one manager in the company needs to complete the training.

The training and certification is provided free of charge.

Without digging up the first thread about that topic, I'll simply say that part of PA in the SE offers a great deal of food products grown the hard way, this pest that was imported from Asia on our trade will lay waste to that food.

And that will be a great loss among the Amish who depend on that quality.

You are probably correct, but I just find it hard to believe that a driver should look for a small insect on a semi and there is a fine if truck doesn't have decal or carriers manager doesn't complete this 2 hour training, cmon now states are making money with so many rules and regulations all the time it has to be truckers

It's a bug... it's here... nothing they can do about it, so they're gonna grab some cash while they can.

If you're a company driver, then you just pass the fine on to your company if they're out of compliance.

If you're an owner / operator, then it's just another cost of doing business. Adjust your rates accordingly when picking up or delivering in the affected areas.
