I’m currently delivering in foodservice for a local company. But, I’m highly considering switching over to something more rewarding and fulfilling. Recently, my cousin had emergency surgery, and I stayed at the hospital for a whole week. Seeing all these nurses and doctors made me realized how satisfying and fulfilling it can be to help people get better. Not to say foodservice ain’t a happy job, but more often than not, you’ll catch chefs on bad days, workers in the kitchen aren’t too happy when they see you, and frankly, you rarely get a simple “thank you”.

I searched around on my local job listings, and came across a delivering job that requires you to deliver products to hospital patients. So, I’ll be delivering directly to their homes, to offices, and hospitals.

I guess I have two questions.

I’m just wondering what you experienced guys think about this, am I’m acting on logic or just being delusional about this whole “rewarding” job thing?

Also, is there a better driving job in healthcare than the one I mentioned? Anyone deliver pharmaceuticals?

    Thank you!

Give it a try. Maybe it's what you'll enjoy and if not, change jobs.
McKesson Corp. has those type of driving jobs.

Dude - I do flatbed because I get involved in interesting projects that make this world rotate.

Never got the same satisfaction dropping trailers and delivering to grumpy receivers.

    Job satisfaction is tops.

    Go for it!

Mammogram and community clinic type trucks need moving.

What's fulfilling is up to you, but i agree that dealing with downers gets old.

He mentioned pharmaceuticals. You know what that means. Tales of derring do and stupendous, outrageous, dirty ludicrous speed delivering aspirin are sure to follow.

I am pretty sure he is talking about a little different type of reward, and job satisfaction, at least I certainly hope so. lol
It would not be my cup of tea, but might just bring a lot of satisfaction to him.

    x1Heavy and Morning-joe Thank this.

Hopefully he doesn't get hooked on aspirin, they are a gateway drug to ibuprofen.

I was referring to the exploits of a retired pharmaceutical hauler.
