And if you can’t get your point across without having to resort to insults then maybe this isn’t the forum for you.Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
Luckily I'm not a WASP anyway.
German/Irish, not fond of the Anglo Saxony. (Historically at least.)Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
Yeah, you Germs get under my skin I get up to Kansas and places.
You do make the only edible sausage we can buy here.
The ones in New Braunfels and Fredericksburg got civilized. Great places. The latter, in spring is worth a road trip.
But the real fight in this country has always been Inter-English. Roundheads versus Cavaliers.

But I’ll back off and apologize. Even though MA might once have been a nice place. Pre-Civil War. I have ancestors landed there 1638.
But who there will draw in your defense? Your family’s? (Ha!) You’ll be praying for a hothead then.

Lighten things up.
Texas DPS didn’t resort to the radio (can’t outrun radio). Might be different today with cell phones, etc. You didn’t mess with men were probably Marine Pacific Theater veterans. Greatly admired. On their way to becoming Texas Rangers, some of them.
The rest of you all want to move to a place with a Third World country across the border, well, that was back about 1980 an okay decision.
The border is already 100-miles inland.
Who is here and is under 25 ain’t a future. Not now.

Also on a personal note, I have relatives in the Lone Star State as well. I have a cousin that lives in Cedar Hill, numerous cousins and a couple aunts all around the Houston area, so I’m well aware of what goes on in H-Town(one of my aunts has had her car stolen 3 times, and she lives 5-10 minutes away from IAH). Even then, they don’t go flying off the handle when something bad happens(level headed folk in my family).
Also I’m originally from Chicagoland. If I can survive living there, then where I’m at now is relatively a cakewalk!Last edited: May 1, 2019

In a figure from Understanding Toxoplasmosis in the United States, Texas is first on the list of states with highest prevalence of infected humans.
Other articles mention toxoplasmosis in Houston...
Neglected parasitic infections at the forefront of public health action
"Houston and Texas in many respects represent 'ground zero' for many of America's neglected tropical diseases, including parasitic infections," said Dr. Peter Hotez, dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine. "We’re at the confluence of poverty and a subtropical climate - two of the major factors that promote these infections, which in reality are major health disparities in the United States. Unfortunately these diseases have been overshadowed by better known infections, even though parasitic infections are much more common... The five infections include Chagas disease, cysticercosis, toxocariasis, toxoplasmosis and trichomoniasis."
Poverty could boost tropical diseases' toll in Texas
"Like many streets in Houston’s Greater Fifth Ward, Worms Street offers the perfect environment for the spread of tropical diseases... Many of these infections aren’t new to the state, but rising temperatures and high poverty rates create what experts call a perfect storm for these diseases to spread in Texas."Last edited: May 6, 2019
