They really, really don't like to get rid of plants. They much prefer to shutter them because they know their product cycles. In 5-10 years cars will be the big seller and SUV/trucks will fall to the wayside. -

Even if everything is true, GM likes to change their mind at the drop of a hat.
And I hope it is, it would be better for the area than letting the plant go to rot. -
I read an article a few weeks ago. An electric car manufacturer was looking to buy that factory. GM was going to sell.
The union made a remark about the new company had to hire the laid off union personnel. According to contract with GM.
Electric car manufacturer decided not to buy. -
