No but for him to come on here and act like people are liars when freight is slow and then want to try and show boat doesn't impress me.

The coordinators will tell you the freight here right now is not good.

The numbers he inflates certainly sets him apart, like his $3 loads out of Miami.

I dont inflate anything. If the conversation is about freight rates in general, not specific to mercer, in a thread with a bunch of independents working the spot market or landstar and bennett contractors I'm gong to be speaking in gross terms because that's what those folks are accustomed to. In a mercer thread it will be ttt terms because its how mercer does it.

Since you can't seem to grasp this concept why don't you put me on ignore so you won't be getting your panties twisted up wondering if im talking gross or ttt numbers.

I was about to say, everyone can say he is full of it if they want, but I've been doing just fine. Sure, I deadhead further than most, but only if it pays. I currently have an $8000 in 8 day set up. Sure, I'll deadhead 900 miles if you're going to make it worth it to me. Maybe I will get lucky and grab a load to fill the gap, but if I'm making $1000/day even on days I'm empty, I'll take it

I think what we are seeing is guys got used to last year with how easy it was to always be able to find great paying loads any time of the day that now that the market has corrected itself and we are returning to normalcy they are having problems adapting.

That's what I'm thinking..... rates I'm seeing are not as good as last year (a record year for the industry) but they are definitely better than 3 or 4 years ago

Yep. I just don't get it when someone says Ohio/ Midwest sucks for freight. How freaking picky do you gotta be not to be able to find a good paying load in Ohio?! I kid you not, monday i was gonna dh from kalamazoo to Akron area for a load picking up tuesday cause it paid good enough to justify the dh. Right before committing i got called on one loading 100 miles north of me Monday paying over 2$ so i grabbed it instead in order to not lose a day. My biggest problem is deciding if i want to stay out and make money or grab a load home.

All of this is less than 150 mile d/h with the exception of between the previous 2 I stated, that's a 900 mile bounce, that's my next 2 weeks, cant complain about $11,500 in 2 weeks and only 1 significant d/h

Yes there was a meeting. There is one every year. Contractor relations is involved every year. Every year several bulletin points are addressed. I have no doubt that increasing volume was one of the highlights this year due to a major shift in the market from last year.
