Out of Chester NY. Terminals all over New England. Would not recommend them to anybody!
First, they DO maintain the vehicles very well. And that’s the only positive I’ll say.
They treat their drivers like machines. No care for families or things going on, just concerned about making money. In the winter hauling propane, when the HOS exemption is in effect, they run you like a dog even though they say the choice is yours. Safety says one thing, but dispatch says another. Running daycabs and working 16+ hour days then only getting an hour or two off before doing it again. Yeah you make money, but it’s not worth it!
They micromanage to the point they don’t want you eating in the truck. Driver facing cams. No cell phones. Can’t sit inside while delivering when it’s well below zero. They send someone out from corporate to spy on the drivers and catch them doing something wrong so they don’t have to give out the safety bonus. They sit in the dark with lights off to watch you make a delivery...
Lastly when you start they give you a bunch of stuff. Some brass tools, etc...but watch it when you quit. Suddenly tools are missing and they won’t give you your last paycheck. Also, don’t bother with a 2 week notice. They just have you sit at home and say there isn’t any work.
I’ve got more info, but seriously if you want to haul propane or liquid natural gas, this is NOT the place to go. I’ve never seen a company lie and screw their drivers as much as LP Transportation.
Stay away from LP Transportation

I can verify most of that........propane used to be the product to haul, now not so much.
T.Rucker Thanks this. -
Someone say "propane"?
snowbird_89, brian991219, homeskillet and 5 others Thank this. -
So I’m reading this as the company laid down the rules and you got caught taking shortcuts. You did safety training for a 331 bottle and part of the deal is remaining outside in view of the hoses and emergency shutoff. Also it amazes me you think you’re tuff enuff to be a haz mat tank driver but don’t have the balls to say No to dispatch.
Studebaker Hawk and brian991219 Thank this. -
Safest place to stay while pumping off propane with a Pto driven pump is within reach of the key ........
In the event of a leak if it gets into the motor ........you need to shut off the engine ASAP....
Any company that wants you standing outside by the trailer while the truck is running pumping away doesn’t know jack crap about safety....T.Rucker Thanks this. -
I disagree the procedures for unloading are a numbers game since most leaks start small being outside and catching problems when they start and shutting things down is preferable to sitting in the cab playing on a phone and not noticing until vapors gets to the intake and the motor starts to runaway. Let’s not try to excuse lazy in the name of safety. Also I firmly believe if you disagree with a company policy you are free to quit. But if your estrogen levels are too high ( not man enough to tell dispatch no) you might not understand.

And if a hose blows while your standing next to the pump and you get burned that’s real safe to........oh I forgot you have a 59 cent plastic face shield and a $7 dollar hard hat on.......and a apron with long sleeved pants/shirt . Priceless
It’s best to start the pump get out and check the connections and get back in the cab.....and keep an eye out...
And you could play on your phone standing next to the valves..........T.Rucker Thanks this. -

Yes, I warned people about this company. Did I say I did all of those things? Or did I merely report what their policies are and how they treat their drivers? People are free to quit - no question about it.
I never said I had big balls for driving hazmat...give me a break. Maybe you have some masculinity issues - I don’t. It was a job...I don’t have to prove my manhood by driving hazmat. And in regards to standing up to dispatch. Who’s to say I did or didn’t? Again!! Give me a break with your assumptions. Maybe since you’re a supertrucker you’ve never dealt with a dispatch office that starves drives if they stand up to them. And yes, I know you would say, quit then. If only life were that easy. I’ve talked to several different people there and they feel trapped between the pay, 401k etc and quitting....sometimes it’s not an easy choice and sometimes guys will just stay quiet and do what dispatch says so that they don’t get penalized for a week or two.
Now don’t go make an assumption that I’m talking about myself here! I’ve talked with multiple guys about this.
I’ve since moved on from this company and found something much better. I just thought to warn others about what I consider a bad company.
If you don’t have anything constructive to say, then don’t bother responding. -
