And you're 100% correct with that statement.

I don’t necessarily like to argue but I am experienced at it. Ohio DOT are no different than California and I won’t waste hours arguing but I will make them do it in court. Not much is settled on the side of the road but it is in court.

I don’t particularly want to deal with them, but I will spend all day with them to prove I’m right. Mainly because I’m tired of being treated like #### by them because I drive a truck.

Very well stated. There's plenty of those biased anti-truck robe-wearing individuals around these parts for sure. They can cost you $$$ if they desire to.

Maybe, a lawyer can get past most of that. The fact is without a specific law you violated they don’t have a leg to stand on.

That’s one nice thing about running the same route every day like we do in the LTL business. I have a reputation down there now for having my #### together, plus never being heavy when I hit a scale.

They do love Western Express down that way though. I always see their trucks pulled on the lot.

Fine for a OTR driver but if you make multiple moves a day and we’ll see.

And it’s the same here, there’s exactly one truck in our area that looks like mine and they know me. They know legal and they honestly don’t bother me but the ones who know me know I’ll see them in court.

shogun, MACK E-6 and Humblepie Thank this.

If you defend yourself maybe but a lawyer can eliminate a lot of that.

    Humblepie Thanks this.

We do a lot of local moves and time spent arguing is time lost, load lost, revenue lost.
We're not in business to make a point, we're in business to make money.
A couple of extra chains or straps...when necessary...is cheap insurance against getting stopped and hassled.

But...each to his own. If it works for you, in the area you haul, and keeps your local cops off your back, go for it,
