What kind of product is it? Food stuff and toiletries will gladly be accepted by a local charity.

take it to the brokers place of business, and dump it off there.

seriously, give them an ultimatum..they either take it off, or you will dump it..

Look on BOL for shipper phone number and call them. Do not agree to drive back for free. just tell them where you gonna leave freight if they didn't agree for disposal.
Sometime they will ask you to write disposal manifest.

My first thought is to take it to the Brokers Office and tailgate it there onto their property. They own it.

    Intothesunset and buddyd157 Thank this.

Give the broker 1 hour to come up with a reasonable response. If no response, donate it to a local charity and document everything..including getting a receipt for the donation. Move on from there. Time is money.

Unfortunately broker doesn't own anything. All is on the carrier and driver who signed BOL.

I know the biggest scam in Trucking Industry sets at a desk from 8-5 and doesn't ever touch the truck...

Yeah. Due to both rep and dems are busy to fight each other we need independent owner operator President. To drain swamp. Re design HOS rules, eliminate parasites, put shippers and receivers under Federal regulation for loading and unloading time. Billions dollars and natural resources wasted every year.

Exactly..The Broker is a third party in the transaction and is usually reluctant as hell to make a decision...so what are your options? You are a first party in the transaction. You have to make a decision. The driver will grow old waiting on a broker to deal with this situation.
