I dont even start my truck for 2$ per mile being a step deck/ flat bed o/o ,when i was doing car hauler i wasn't very happy doing 3.25$ on the average involving all the costs and headaches .
Ps : im one of those europeans flooding the market but i didn't buy my DL , i earned it and calculating all the cost of living in usa i guess it depends how you run it , whats yr location and connection . There are plenty of guys among car haulers on this forum shared their great experience during bad market .
Load Rates are down over 25% why ?

Look at DAT or google spot market rates.
Reefer avg was $2.32 last month,
Flat was $2.50
Van was $1.80
This is from memory not actual. -
Supply and demand.
Study economics.
Where did you come up with the idea that society is supposed to give you what you want ????Bakerman Thanks this. -
You may also want to start making some sales calls. You will do a lot better working directly for the customer than you normally will on a load board. Not to insult nor make assumptions but there is more to this business than getting something from a to b. When your not moving its sales, sales, sales. Trucking is often feast or famine, you can take some control over that when your customer likes you and you explain that your kids will starve at a cut throat rate.
When your a car or 2 short then hit the load board, and when you have too many customers then consider brokering your own loads.CMN19 Thanks this. -
