Bit of a sticky situation i'm in I trusted this guy about this hotshoting stuff put everything in my name (Yes call me a #######)I have the truck and trailer like 10 straps/8 chains I have a 25+5 Goose neck trailer. It had gotten to the point I have tried to get out from under the truck but I'm to far underneath it to do much of anything other then let the truck go back to the bank I have always done good financially and bought into my friends advice. Aside from getting my CDL which I am studying for right now after I get this CDL whats the next step into getting this all running as fast as possible so I do not go into debt and get sued for the #### I bought thinking my friend would pay half I have certainly learned my lesson into trusting peoples word now I am at the mercy of the bank I have 3 months before my money in my accounts will run out call me a ####### or a guy who bought into this without doing research but I have done some reading on this stuff It was more of a bad choice on who I was partnering up with please help me for me and family's sake on any idea on how to get out from under and or how to finish getting this all started.
Where to go from here

Set up a business plan through www.OOIDA.com
Maybe you'll luck out and get your truck to work after you get your cdl and drive it yourself.
Maybe get some loads with these 3 > click on blue lettering:
Henderson Trucking LLC
Showroom Transport - Auto,Car,RV,Trailer,Heavy Equipment ...
Star Fleet Trucking
or cut your loses and sell out, probably at a loss. -
Don't ever tell anyone how long you've had a cdl; keep that private.
From what I've learned, reading about hotshot work, other hotshot drivers/owner-operators aren't going to share the wealth to anyone. They don't want other owner-operators undercutting their prices to take freight away from them, putting their financial situation in jeopardy. That's where the term "don't haul cheap freight" started.Bigbubba1 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the advice.

What have you done so far other than buy a truck & trailer..? (Which is too short by the way, should of got 40'.)
Pass DOT physical.
Get CDL A.
Buy some commercial insurance.
File for USDOT & MC#'s
Pay the UCR fee.
Go to IRP office & get apportioned tags.
File IFTA for your fuel taxes.
Get an ELD if your truck has newer than a 1999 engine.
Sign up for 2 or 3 online load boards & try to book some freight $1.60-$2.00 a mile to get yourself started..
Knock on the doors of local businesses you think you could work for..
Get ready for the new entrant safety audit. You'll have 6-18?months to get ready for that. Sounds more daunting than is really is. Just got start knocking them down one by one & get through it..
Good luck..Bigbubba1, tnpete, Lite bug and 1 other person Thank this. -
