When I left May Trans. at that point and time they were dinging drivers for money when they left, Using LOA option they never had the chance to ding my check, got my pay then simply told them I would not be back, They could not post there crap of quitting under dispatch or any of the stuff they were doing back then. Worked well.dwells40 Thanks this. -
Me after 2 days on the job: Can I have a LOA?
Boss: Why?
ME: Something came up?
Boss: What?
ME: None of your business. I'm a truck driver and I am in demand. Give me a LOA
Boss: Good drivers are in demand. Guys like you are a dime a dozen. The answer is no
ME: I quit. You'll be hearing from my lawyer. They are called TVC
Boss: (laughing) Don't let the door hit you
So in the end, I still quit, I don't get unemployment and I didn't get my 2 days pay. It might've shown up in the mail in a week if I wasn't such a dick but now he might make me waitLast edited: May 16, 2019

Not only do they have to replace the employee (was going to happen anyway), they get to also pay unemployment as he was fired instead of quitting. -
