So I got my CDL today. Class A and now need to look for a job. I would rather not be gone long distance. I would rather be home more often than once a week. I don't have to be home every night either though.

I am in the north Atlanta area. Anybody have any job suggestions? I have currently applied for jobs with Lazer Spot, and with PFG Milton but other options are welcome.

What part of town do you live in? Just the county if you dont mind sharing. I live in the area and am always looking at jobs so I could probably help you out. You dont want to be commuting more than about 30 minutes if you're going to be home several times per week.

Not yet, but I am planning on getting my tanker endorsement, and probably my hazmat as well as quickly as I can. Tanker maybe as soon as tomorrow.

There is an Budweiser factory in Albany, GA that has local work.
And Frito lay has a factory in Perry , GA.
Kroger, and Walmart, and Win Dixie should have driving jobs near by.

Ok I live over in gwinnett, unfortunately the north side is a desert for entry level home daily jobs. Most companies have terminals on the south side. But here are some companies you can apply with Transsouth they're in Braselton, they advertise a home daily shuttle driver position, CPC is over in Jefferson, they do Walgreens, good hourly plus OT after 8. Lily Transportation in Braselton, they deliver to I think Whole Foods, had home daily positions, Cardinal Logistics does home daily out of Buford. Blue Line which delivers Little Ceasers stuff is out of Lawrenceville. Vistar in Lawrenceville does I think candy and stuff for movie theaters 1-2 day routes. Ryder and Penske have dedicated customers on the suwanee and brasellton areas. Ernst Concrete and SRM are Ready mix companies that both have plants in the Gainesville oakwood area if you dont mind class b work. Ace Hardware advertises for route drivers in Gainesville. Last but not least, Leon Farmer(Budweiser) and Northeast Sales(Miller) do home daily. Good luck buddy. I do home couple times a week but I work down in south Atlanta and the commute completely ####ing sucks. All of the places I listed ask for 1-2 years of experience with maybe a few exceptions. But go ahead and apply worst they can say is no.

Do you have your Class A CDL, but you're just missing your hazmat or tanker endorsements? Or maybe you just graduated truck driving school and you’re looking for the first professional driving job. Holland offers best-in-class training program options for drivers missing endorsements, or who have less than one year of driving experience. With Holland, you can work on our dock full time while obtaining your endorsements. Need a little training? Holland has an amazing team of instructors and mentors here to teach our what it takes to be a Holland driver.
Holland is currently seeking to add Regional Linehaul and Local City drivers to our team in our driver training program
