yesterday morning after idle all night I woke up to my truck having that strong ### rotten egg smell. I knew what it might have been and checked the voltage and it was 14.4.

Now early this morning after the smell went away I checked the voltage again at it was 14.7.

Im pretty sure this truck needs to be in the shop again. However I'm currently in Jackson Mississippi. I deliver a load to east Texas off i30 about 100 miles away from Dallas where our oc is. My question is would it be safe and ok to do this load

Are the batteries swelling or leaking?

I lift up the hood and hear what sounds like water leaking. Also see black liquid on the ground which looks like oil.

Update. After A few minutes the sound of leaking and the actual leaking stops. It's looks like it actually is just water. Just dirty for some reason

Normal charging voltage is between 14.2 and 14.7 VDC. Anything lower will take forever to recharge the batteries, anything higher will sulfate the batteries. A fully charged battery at rest will show 12.6V after sitting for about an hour and around 13.8V just after the engine is shut down. As far as making the drop, can't help much there.

It's not so much the safety. If the batteries want to burn up they will

14 something is really good off the alternator. You are feeding 3 or 4 batteries that are a deep cycle.

Deliver your load and go find a shop to double check the truck.

Rotten egg smell usually means some one hasnt checked the batteries fluid levels. Top it off with distilled water (preferred) or use plain tap water / bottled water. The water needs to come up only as far as the bottom of the collar you see inside the battery.

Is there a cat or dog in the truck with a grin?
