Just overhauled the engine and put new cylinder head. After not even 100 miles noticed oil seeping between the head and head gasket on the fron of the engine. Valve cover gasket is dry and also the harness where it goes in the head. Can it be a bad head? Anyone ran in to this problem before?

Who did the work? On your other thread did you answer the question about new head bolts?

They did use new head bolts. And i did it at a reputable shop in Nc. They are known for builduing engines. They said it.s either the head gasket or the head. They will take apart the head and take it to the machine shop to make sure everything is ok with it. It wouldn.t be the first time that we see a bad new part from volvo.

That's what I was thinking. Its unusual to hear of warped head.

"seeping" is hard word to take sometimes. How much are we talking here? It may be just from assembly. I would spray the area with brake cleaner and keep an eye on it.

That's what i thought too. That it was just dirty. So i washed the engine and after it completely dry took it for a road test. After 30 miles checked again and in the same area it was wet again. The oil it's not dripping, just sepping. But that is when it's only bobtail. If i would leave it like that i'm afraid that under a heavy load it will start leaking more.

    Heavyd Thanks this.
