Well thanks for telling me that definitely will have to rethink about the O/O venture I was thinking about its confusing tho always hear people say that o/o save 7 - 9k take home pay I guess only advantage to being O/O is save some change in taxes but alot of things can go wrong also as O/O I'm thinking about dropping the towel and getting hired with Walmart here in Calgary I personally know two fellas they say 4500 take home after taxes is doable so why go OTR when there is no advantage we all drivers are idiots running otr for these slave wages oh well I guess people have families to raise and that brings me to my original point if you quit you will be replaced by another driver almost in less then a week so driver shortage my a **

Yeah man I'm starting to hate challenger with a passion, I managed to get a sneak peek on what they are getting paid for loads and seeing they are only making 100-200 profit on some of these loads. Gotta love driving a 62mph truck too, nothing like being passed by swift all day.

Challenger has already started that immigrant driver crap, I saw some guy training some African looking dude who didn't even know English. I was like what the actual ####. It's gonna turn into bison real quick over here.

Fire some of that information my way if you know what they're getting paid on which loads ;)
By PM only if you want.

You know their operating cost as well...?

Yea, not many choices for good companies here in Calgary; very thankful to be where i'm at. If you have a FAST CARD, have 3+ years and can handle LTL, Call CANEDA right away. Their company pay is amazing, and if you wanted to go O/O, thats the place to do it in Calgary IMHO. A bunch of ex-Bison guys went to Walmart and love it, most said it was a huge raise from working at Bison and no expenses like running OTR. I think they also cover the benefits and you get an employee discount card for the stores. If I wasn't an O/O, I would already be over there. All new Volvo Day Cabs also.

I won't be able to do 7-9K until my truck is paid off. Right now I can do 7K company income if I can keep the fuel costs down, after everything is paid, and the stars align. Most guys who make 9+k have paid off reliable trucks.

Mind you thats LTL Van on Mileage pay. If I was on reefer at a bigger company, with a bigger fuel discount, it could be more. It all comes down to what company you're with, and how much work they have. I wouldn't want to be on % right now, like @gokiddogo said, those rates right now are just burning diesel for free.

More like as bad as TransX, no matter how bad it gets, it will never be as bad as Bison; because they do not slip seat.

Nothing like coming back to your truck, after 3 foreigners have had their way with it.

Not too sure what their operating costs are however I heard some people talking in the office about rates and some of those rates were on my runs. After I subtracted my own pay + fuel there wasn't much left. The rate seemed oddly close to the rate they show on the pay stubs.

Toronto -allentown pa the rate was $450. Pretty sure it was in cdn dollars.
    About 380 miles trip.

There is no way they're providing that capacity for that low. The loads from Ontario to pa are usually more plentiful than the loads from pa to on. Unless it's a spot market load and they took whatever to get a truck to one of their customers in the area, maybe... which also begs the question, why don't they just broker the load out they need moved?
Toronto to Allentown should be in the ~$1800 neighborhood (cdn$, customer rate).

It seemed a little weird to me, however that specific customer moves 8-10 loads per day, not sure if that makes any difference. Maybe the rates they post in the stubs are just decoys to the actual real pay. I pulled a load from Virginia to Winnipeg and it showed $1850 on the pay stub. Doesn't seem right since I fueled $600 in fuel. I remember challenger made us sign a document saying we can't discuss customers to anybody, however at this point I don't really care.

Winnipeg is a market where the outbound also sucks. Meaning it pays better to go there than to leave. There is no way these are contract rates. I used to get offered 4500 to run from Toronto to Winnipeg and never took any of it, there are slim pickings for freight out of there. I figured maybe it could work if I figured out where to load meat out of Minnesota back to Ontario. Having more than enough already on my plate I never seriously entertained the idea. It's also not a market I am interested in chasing anyway.
