There are rookie drivers just starting out making $1000 a week.. -
I thought the 800 was just the extra stop pay. lol

My last job was 12-13 hours a day and 500 miles a night at 53.5 cpm. And I did a LOT of sitting. 350 miles in 12 hours means you’re basically sitting unpaid more than you’re driving and at 41 cpm no less. Sounds like a bad deal

Man 60 hrs a week for that low of pay. If I was gonna take that kind of pay the hours would have to be at 40 a week.
-
"Oh, sorry driver...you're paid by the mile."Pedigreed Bulldog Thanks this. -

You're just not being compensated enough for a 12 hour day. -
Drivers are a funny breed, it seems like we are forever griping about being classed as unskilled labor and whining about not being paid what we are worth. Now a guy comes up with a local gig that might pay him around a grand a week and every man to a t says don't take it. I would too if the job was here, but not knowing where local is, he might be the highest paid guy in town at that rate.
I knew a bank president whose bank went under the massive savings and loan fiasco. He spent a year looking for work, any work that he could make a living at, there was no need for bank presidents and everything else he applied for, he was told that he was over qualified.
He went to school and started driving, made as much money as he ever had with much less stress, once the economy took an upturn and he could have got back in an office, he elected to keep driving.sevenmph Thanks this.
