Does anyone have an updated list on prescription medications that could make you not get a job with Schneider? I take something for TMJ nerve pain which is on the list (first generation) and worried SNI will deny me.
Updated drug list? SNI Schneider.

Generally if you are using Narcotics or another controlled substance for mind and anxiety etc you doctors note in his letter with phone contact 24/7. This is the note that declares to the Policeman that you are safe to drive with meds in your system inside a big truck.
Some medicines are schedule one, a automatic ban to have this stuff with you (Possession..) or in your system around a trucker job or any that has a reflection on public safety.
Some things like Pot is legal here for Medical treatment, however many of the 18 diagnosis given to you with that card here probably will cause the DOT to put you OOS because some of the problems will essentially be disabling or some other problem
You cannot carry certain prescriptions into Canada. However do not take my word for it. I was just examining two areas of my hands that were badly burned in my teens and early trucker years. And even today I can see the damage which formed a crater in the skin somewhat down the tendons and bones of each finger. Some of the joints in my hands are showing early signs of RA.
I'll die a trucker. But I do not get to say ok, lets be really sick and stay home all the time. That's not living. You are just existing.
Without knowing your medicine exactly I cannot match it against the formal lists to see if you are legal or not.
If you for some reason get ticklish and don't want to reveal the medicine just call the DOT Trucking Enforcement in your state division of the DMV to ask directly such a such a drug legal to drive or not.
It's really important for you to understand Because if you just ran off with a 18 wheeler and got caught 3 states away with drugs that are a automatic arrest for DUI then you have not checked.
Ive said enough. We look forward to hearing from you again with the exact medicine we are dealing with on you.Rocknroller4 Thanks this. -
It's an tricyclic antidepressant which I use for nerve pain. I don't have a doctor's note and have to fly to orientation. Worried it will be a waste of time if they deny me. I'd have to get a note from my doctor but start this Tuesday.

Can your doctor not fax them or you a note?

Recommend not to certify if: The driver: •Uses a first generation antidepressant. •Has treatment effects or side effects that interfere with safe driving. NOTE: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration recommendations favor not certifying the driver who uses a first generation tricyclic antidepressant stating that "only under exceptional circumstances would continuous use of amitriptyline be acceptable for a commercial driver."
So what are the chances SNI will pass me or not looking at the above statement?Last edited: May 20, 2019

I am no expert, but I would say chances are not in your favor. I really do not see how they could take on the liability.

I wouldn't know about that, and don't know what they use.

Do not lie. You get in a fender bender next thing you know you’re on the hook personally.
Vic Firth, Rocknroller4, lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this.
