So he’s here legally.. In a nation built by immigrants..

Don’t worry though, that driver is screwed with Colorado law being what it is. The prosecutor only needs to prove he was reckless..

He’ll be going to jail for a very long time.

Flee back to Cuba so they can throw him in a Cuban prison for fleeing to America. Got it that makes sense.

Maybe he will, maybe he won't. A bunch of people said the same things about the immigrant driver that killed 16 in the Humboldt crash. None of it came to pass.

While you and I see an inexperienced, unqualified driver who used poor judgement and made bad decisions that got people needlessly killed there's a segment of the population that sees this very differently.

The crowd here is weighted towards professional drivers, but if you'll read the comments on news articles about this accident by the general public you'll see a lot of folks who believe that this was an, "accident" that wasn't the driver's fault and the only reason the DA charged the driver is because of the color of his skin. These folks are willing to help out because they believe they're, "fighting racism". Signs and wonders.

Doesn't he even have a kid in Cuba yet, pretty sure I read that in one of the articles, makes him a pretty serious flight risk if you ask me.

If he'd been a white guy everybody who's screaming about racism would be screaming hang him, which is what should happen. If you go back and read through the articles and threads on this one you'll see that he admits to cutting back across traffic instead of pile driving the back end of the truck on the shoulder, sounds pretty intentional to me.

Now really, there is 4 that are gone by this company and driver, we care more about the status of his being punished than for those that had their lives completely shattered by incompetence. That company needs to be put out of business and the chiefs need to be stuck in the same boat as the driver.

A truck fails to brake then rear-ends 1 pickup is very different from a driver who claims brake failure, sails past 3 runaway truck ramps then steers his truck into dozens of parked cars intentionally.

Every day there are fatal crashes. Some stand out more than others. Not sure what your point is.

His brakes did fail, he rode them to much and overheated them, next up on trucks a new safety feature, brakes get to certain temp, cog locks in, all wheels are frozen.
