Every week I will look at some of the most interesting lanes and talk about what is happening with rates, from an OO perspective.

Rate nerd post of the week: Vans running Kingsport TN to Parkersburg WV are getting their rate! Looking at about a thousand loads over the last week, brokers are posting at $693.25 average, Carriers offer $1100.35 average, and the final paid rate is running $1088.55, very close to what trucks are offering (and way above broker's posts)!

Ok I’ll play, what do you see happening in the Atlanta to Savannah market.

No surprise, straight line down since last June. Broker post: ~$650, Carrier offer: ~$900, Paid: ~$715
The fact that they meet in the middle (or closer to the posted rate) says there are plenty of trucks for the loads (not like a "backhaul market", but enough trucks).

#RateNerd post of the week: A #rate that is actually up a good amount: Cleveland, OH to Winchester, VA, Van

Loads posted were up 20%+ last week, and it is averaging $1300 right now, better than last week's $1275, week before $1060, and last week's paid average (which lags up to 30 days) of $990. #winrates #freight

Good to know. This is the area where I like to go. Until the end of the last year - Chicago-Winchester paid 2200-2400. Now. maybe 1600-1700 - I don't even call on these loads. You can get to Cleveland for $800 every day - and then find a load to Winchester, VA for $1300 - that's not too exciting but ok for 2 days of work. Thing is to avoid those PA tolls.

Very nice, yeah it looks like a stop in Cleveland gets you at least close to last year for the whole trip. Good to see that OH - VA is actually going up even though lots of lanes and nation wide are trending down.
