Isn't jail time or the death penalty a detterent to commit a crime?
By locking this young inexperienced driver up for 100 years what message will we be sending?
The only message I see is "That'll teach them to come to my country" .
Are we really this stupid?
Are we living the rapture?Canadianhauler21, Snailexpress, MIT and 1 other person Thank this. -
How about since it is a stoner state and pot and mushrooms are legal on a state level and there is a huge homeless population use that stuff as a carrot on a stick, supply some of them things along with a pick, wheel barrow and gloves and every time they get close just pull the supply a bit farther, then when they get to the other side let em have it.

Nation of immigrants.. that old song n dance.. no it isn't. It's a nation of citizens. The United States was founded in the beginning as a European colony. Hired hands from outside the country has been done by every nation on Earth.. I don't see Filipinos working in Saudi Arabia claiming it to be a nation of immigrants.. Wonder what the Saudi's would think of that? The ignorance on history is just astounding these days.

The driver WAS the problem, and pointing fingers at him is entirely appropriate.
Punish the guilty.
The driver, the company that hired him, whoever enabled him to get a CDL without competency in English.
And then an immigration policy that serves the interests of Americans rather than foreigners would be great too, if we want to look farther afield. Was this unskilled, non english speaking Cuban imported for OUR benefit ? Nope. That wasn't the intention and it certainly wasn't the result.
This wasn't a failure of infrastructure.
This driver wasn't a victim of circumstance or impossible conditions or anything else. The dead are victims of someone who never should have been on our highways.cjb logistics, spyder7723, Gearjammin' Penguin and 4 others Thank this. -
